Jerusalén, Jerusalén,
Santa, bendita ciudad
Del gran Rey,
Jerusalén, Jerusalén,
Bella lumbrera de paz...
Yo no te olvidaré;
A tí regresaré.
Levántate y vístete,
O hermosa, de majestad.
Jerusalén, Jerusalén,
Canta, eleva tu voz,
O Sion;
Jerusalén, Jerusalén,
Danza, amada de Dios...
Los pueblos correrán;
A tu monte llegarán,
Y dirán subamos
A la casa de Dios.

Jerusalem
Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
Zion, city of the Great King,
Fair one,
Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
Take heart, lift your voice up and sing.
My heart burns for you!
Know that I'll return to you,
Beautiful City of Truth,
The Lord's Holy Mountain.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
I yearn and pray for your peace.
Shalom,
Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
Someday all the fighting will cease.
Clothe yourself in power;
Put on garments of splendor.
Shake off your dust; rise, and sit enthroned,
O Zion, Holy City.

El alumbramiento
Por poco te rendiste;
Por poco te perdiste,
Sin poderlo obtener;
Y casi no lo puedes creer,
Pero es verdad.
¿Y quien lo negará?
Despues de tanto tiempo,
En un sueño despierto,
Al fin lo lograste,
Al cabo llegaste
Al alumbramiento.
No debes olvidarlo;
No debes ocultarlo.
Sube al techo y desátalo;
Sube al cielo y decláralo
A la tempestad
Que te quiere desafiar.
Despues de tanto tiempo,
En un sueño despierto,
Al fin lo lograste,
Al cabo llegaste
Al alumbramiento.

Bienaventuranzas
Bienaventurados los pobres en espíritu;
Suyo es el reino de los cielos.
Bienaventurados tambien son los que lloran;
Ellos recibirán consuelo.
Bienaventurados los de limpio corazón;
Ellos verán...
Ellos verán...
Ellos verán a Dios.
Bienaventurados los mansos en espíritu;
Ellos heredarán la tierra.
Bienaventurados los misericordiosos;
Ellos recibirán misericordia.
Bienaventurados los de limpio corazón;
Ellos verán...
Ellos verán...
Ellos verán a Dios.
Los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia
Serán saciados.
Benditos son los pacificadores;
Serán llamados
Hijos de Dios.

Psalm 139 (Where Can I Go?)
You have searched me, Lord,
And you know me;
You know when I sit
And when I rise.
You perceive my thoughts
When I'm silent;
There is nothing hidden
From your eyes.
So where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
In the highest heavens?
In the depths below?
You are there!
And if I rise on the wings of the morning,
Or sail to the outermost sea,
Even there You'll find me,
And your hand will guide me lovingly.
Oh God, search my heart today,
And lead me in the everlasting way.
If I say I'll run
To the darkness,
And seek a place
Where I can hide away,
Even in the dark
You will find me,
And the night will shine
As brightly as the day.
So where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
In the highest heavens?
In the depths below?
You are there!
And if I rise on the wings of the morning,
Or sail to the outermost sea,
Even there You'll find me,
And your hand will guide me lovingly.
Oh God, search my heart today,
And lead me in the everlasting way.

Psalm 118 (I Will Call on the Name of the Lord)
I love the Lord, for He heard my cry;
He heard my cry for mercy.
He turned His ear to me, and I
Will call on Him as long as I live.
The chords of death entangled me;
I felt the anguish of the grave.
Distress and sorrow covered me;
Then I called on the One who saves.
I will lift up the cup of salvation,
And call on the name of the Lord.
In the midst of His congregation
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord.
You have saved me from death, o Lord;
Now the land of the living is my home.
What shall I return to the Lord
For the goodness He has shown?
I will lift up the cup of salvation,
And call on the name of the Lord.
In the midst of His congregation
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord.
The Lord is gracious;
The Lord is righteous;
He is full of compassion.
Therefore will I bring
A thankful offering,
And I will call on the name of the Lord.
I will lift up the cup of salvation,
And call on the name of the Lord.
In the midst of His congregation
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord.

Lovely
I've heard you laughing in a wind gust;
I've seen you dancing in the rain;
I've felt your power in the ocean;
I've known a peace I can't explain.
Quietly I'll wait for you until
You speak, for I know you're with me.
No matter where I go,
I see you, and I know:
You are unmistakably lovely.
I've heard you whisp'ring in a cool stream;
I've watched you sail across a bay;
I've felt your hand inside a moonbeam;
I've known a joy I can't convey.
Quietly I'll wait for you until
You speak, for I know you're with me.
No matter where I go,
I see you, and I know:
You are unmistakably lovely.
I know I don't ever have to wonder
Who you are or whether you love me;
I just look around me and I marvel,
As you display your love in all I see.
Quietly I'll wait for you until
You speak, for I know you're with me.

I see you, and I know:
You are unmistakably lovely.

Your Light
Hide the stars when the night is done;
Seal the dark, as You loosen the sun.
Just a word from You, and the world is new.
Seal the dark, as You loosen the sun.
Just a word from You, and the world is new.
Brighter than sunlight,
You are my Morning Star;
Sweeter than moonlight,
And heaven knows who You are...(Heaven knows.)
Rescue me; steal me from the night.
Walk with me; lead me into light.
Faithful Flame Divine, evermore You shine.
Brighter than sunlight,
You are my Morning Star;
Sweeter than moonlight,
And heaven knows who you are...
And your Word is a lamp unto my feet.
I am never alone; You are with me.
I know I will be alright;
Your love is my guiding light.

You Are
You are the dawn's caresses,
A misty morning breeze;
You are sweet spring emerging,
Awakening barren trees.
A misty morning breeze;
You are sweet spring emerging,
Awakening barren trees.
You are a quiet shoreline
Cradling a restless sea;
You are a rain-drenched garden
Laughing ebulliently.
I am a wayward traveler,
A dreamer from afar.
O boundless joy,
Enthrall my heart
As I consider who You are.
You are a soothing wind song,
A tender lullaby;
You are an autumn sunset,
A splendid October sky.
You are a gushing wellspring
Of beauty unbroken, unseen;
You are a river flowing
Toward a thirsty, ravaged ravine.
I am a wayward traveler,
A dreamer from afar.
O boundless joy,
Enthrall my heart
As I consider who You are.
I am a wayward traveler,
A dreamer from afar.
O boundless joy,
Enthrall my heart
As I consider who You are.
O boundless joy,
Enthrall my heart
As I consider who You are.

Everything Is Miraculous
Everything is miraculous
Everything is miraculous
Every day
Good or bad
Every thought
Sad or glad
Every voice
Every smile
Every joy
Every trial
Everything is miraculous
Everything is miraculous
Every star
In the sky
Every tear
And lonely sigh
Every cloud
Every stream
Every heart
Every dream
Everything is miraculous
Everything is miraculous
Seek and you will find
Ask and you'll receive
Don't wait for a sign
In order to believe
Let the doubts go
And know that you know
Know that you know
That you know
That you know...
Everything is miraculous

Intergalactic Daydream
"He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them." (Psalm 147:4)
You know every star,
Every planet, every moon,
Every mountain, every canyon,
Every river and lagoon.
You know every child,
Every woman, every man;
Like the fairest constellations,
We are guided by Your hand.
The twinking lights in the heavens,
Fashioned long ago;
The oceans wide and the coastlands
Of worlds we've yet to know:
They brightly burn for you;
They testify of you!
In splendor overlaid,
You've fashioned us in your image;
We are wondrously arrayed,
And we belong to You.
We belong to You!
When the sun has set
And the moon lights up the sea,
There is laughter, there is music
In the waves, and within me.
Peacefully I drift,
Dreaming I have traveled far,
To a galaxy uncharted,
Like a lovelorn, wand'ring star.
The stars that adorn the heavens,
Fashioned long ago;
The oceans and coastlands
Of worlds we've yet to know:
They all belong to You!
They all belong to You!
Here upon this spinning sphere,
In splendor overlaid,
Do we know why we're here?
In your image we are made,
And we belong to You.
We belong to You!
Like the fairest constellations...
We are guided by Your hand...

Highland Road
I have been sojourning
In a barren wilderness,
In a state of restlessness
For much too long.
Long have I been yearning
For waterfalls and creaks,
For lofty mountain peaks,
Where I belong.
Highland Road, lead me home;
Guide my steps, lest I roam.
I will press on;
I'm not alone,
Highland Road.
I have been uncertain,
Seeking what I could not find.
Now I see that I've been blind;
I'm headed home.
I know you've been waiting
For this weary traveler's feet.
How I've hoped someday we'd meet,
Highland Road.
Highland Road, lead me home;
Guide my steps, lest I roam.
I will press on;
I'm not alone,
Highland Road.
Highland Road, lead me home;
Guide my steps, lest I roam.
I will press on;
I'm not alone,

I don't know what's happening to me: song after song is pouring out of me. Not that I mind. I have experienced dry spells many a time, but this is the striking opposite. Not sure if I want to refer to it as a wet spell, however.
This one is brand new, and it's a song idea I have been flirting with for quite some time. I love, love, love mountains; the feeling I get when I travel down a woodland road is incomparable. It's the double portion of it which I treasure: there's the quiet remoteness and beauty, of course; but there's also, most definitely, an awareness of God in such places--for me, at any rate. And sure, God is everywhere, but the stillness, the solace, the sacredness of forests, streams, wild animals, and lofty peaks never ceases to overwhelm me and instill in me a deep yearning for my Creator.
And so, this song was birthed out of that yearning...

Adam in Exile
Who is this wild, wide-eyed creature,
Fashioned by hand from Eden's dust?
Exile in the realm of the temporal,
Where will he go? Who can he trust?
Spiraling into confusion;
Does he even know who he is?
Lost in a newfound delusion,
Seeking a realm that is higher than this.
A little lower than the angels,
In many ways like a god;
A nomad, a wayfaring stranger:
Splendid prince or lowly sod?
His best-laid plans are cursory, at best,
And rumors of everlasting unrest
Are keeping him up at at night.
Will he ever see the light?
Who is this wild, wide-eyed creature
Driven by new technology?
Twenty-first-century features
Conceal a primeval identity.
Caught in a web of illusions,
Stumbling through a fog of pretense,
Desperate for quick-fix solutions,
Answers to questions he can't comprehend.
A little lower than the angels,
In many ways like a god;
A nomad, a wayfaring stranger:
Splendid prince or lowly sod?
His best-laid plans are cursory, at best,
And rumors of everlasting unrest
Are keeping him up at at night.
Will he ever see the light?
(A little lower than the angels...)
Longing for paradise...
(A little lower than the angels...)
When will he realize?...
(A little lower than the angels...)
That he is glory-and-honor-crowned...
(A little lower than the angels...)
Will he lose it all or come around?
A little lower than the angels,
A little lower than the angels,
A little lower than the angels,
Godlike spirit or heathen?
Fugitive old of Eden...

God Is Your Refuge and Strength
This is a hymn I recently composed. Throughout the songwriting process, I decided I would come up with three stanzas and a chorus, then a melody, and finally a traditional hymn arrangement (four-part harmony: soprano, alto, tenor, bass)...
If shadowy thoughts take control, and you feel
A current of doubt overwhelming your mind;
If darkness surrounds you and tries to conceal
The truth you've believed, seek the Lord's help and find:
refrain
God is your refuge and strength; you can rest
Safe and secure in His faithful embrace.
He will defend you; your doubts He'll arrest.
Shelter and solace you'll find in His grace.
When worldly cares seize you, confound you and shake
The confidence you've been relying upon,
You need not give in; you can freely partake
Of grace which proclaims, "All is well! It is done!"
refrain
God is your refuge and strength; you can rest
Safe and secure in His faithful embrace.
He will defend you; your cares He'll arrest.
Shelter and solace you'll find in His grace.
So relinquish all fear; you are safe in the hands
Of One who from death's curse has ransomed your soul.
He sees every circumstance; He understands.
His love will sustain you; His peace will console.
refrain
God is your refuge and strength; you can rest
Safe and secure in His faithful embrace.
He will defend you; your fears He'll arrest.
Shelter and solace you'll find in His grace.

Yours
You hide while I seek
That which I have yet to understand.
I wait for you to speak;
You leave me something scribbled on the sand.
What do you see
When you look at me?
Will I ever be
All I long to be?
That which I have yet to understand.
I wait for you to speak;
You leave me something scribbled on the sand.
What do you see
When you look at me?
Will I ever be
All I long to be?
You say, "Come,"
Even when You know I'll run;
You say, "Love,
You will always be my love."
Is it because you have always known
That I am really not my own,
That I am and ever shall be...
Yours?
I say I will stay
And quietly sit at your feet this time,
But I walk away,
Knowing well how much I'll leave behind.
What do you see
When you look at me?
Will I ever be
All I need to be?
You say, "Come,"
Even when you know I'll run;
You say, "Love,
You will always be my love."
Is it because you have always known
That I am really not my own,
That I am and ever shall be...
Yours?

A Living Song
Write a song with your life,
A melody sublime,
With cadences and rhyme.
You're a chord progression and
You're the score on a baby grand,
So let the world see
You're a living song
Play that song with your heart;
You need no staged event,
No flawless instrument.
Just play it everywhere you go;
Go on, let those heart-notes flow,
And let the world know
They can sing along
So be a living song,
A grace-imparting tune;
Let it soar above the world's cacophony.
Be a loving song,
And your song will soon
Be the prelude for a worldwide symphony,
Share the song and you'll find
There's a voice in every heart,
And it longs to sing a part
That will blend seamlessly,
Like a river flowing endlessly;
Yes, the world yearns
To sing it loud and strong!
So be a living song,
A grace-imparting tune;
Let it fill the world with hopeful harmony.
Be a loving song,
And your song will soon
Be the prelude for a worldwide symphony
