Psalm 139 (Where Can I Go?)

You have searched me, Lord,
And you know me;
You know when I sit
And when I rise.
You perceive my thoughts
When I'm silent;
There is nothing hidden
From your eyes.

So where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
In the highest heavens?
In the depths below?
You are there!
And if I rise on the wings of the morning,
Or sail to the outermost sea,
Even there You'll find me,
And your hand will guide me lovingly.
Oh God, search my heart today,
And lead me in the everlasting way.

If I say I'll run
To the darkness,
And seek a place
Where I can hide away,
Even in the dark
You will find me,
And the night will shine
As brightly as the day.

So where can I go from your Spirit?

Psalm 118 (I Will Call on the Name of the Lord)

I love the Lord, for He heard my cry;
He heard my cry for mercy.
He turned His ear to me, and I
Will call on Him as long as I live.

The chords of death entangled me;
I felt the anguish of the grave.
Distress and sorrow covered me;
Then I called on the One who saves.

I will lift up the cup of salvation,
And call on the name of the Lord.
In the midst of His congregation
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord.

You have saved me from death, o Lord;
Now the land of the living is my home.
What shall I return to the Lord
For the goodness He has shown?
