Pretty City

Pretty City got neon soul
But it need more heart
Said it need more heart
Pretty City hot, smooth and bold
But it dark and cold
Said it dark and cold

Pretty City need more kindness
Pretty City push and shove
Pretty City peddle blindness
Pretty City need real love

Pretty City shine just like gold
But it steal the light
Said it steal the light
Pretty City pipe dream get sold
But a dream bankrolled
Won't remove blindfold

Pretty City need more kindness
Pretty City push and shove
Pretty City peddle blindness
Pretty City need real love

And it say take a chance
Make a friend tonight
So you laugh and you dance
In the sad moonlight
And the city rain
Wash your dream away
And you hide the pain
And you fade away

Pretty City hope subverting
Pretty City push and shove
Pretty City people hurting
Pretty City need real love

What If the Martians Are Us?

At first, they were into our jokes and our cokes,
Laughing and imitating us, just for kicks.
See, they wanted to schmooze with down-to-earth folks.
We partied together; they needed a fix.

They talked about a growing sunspot.
They said, "your future's what we've brought."
They showed up in fast, flying cars.
They told us they've terraformed Mars.

Talk amongst yourselves, now, discuss;
But what if the Martians are us?

They were searching for love, for peace and goodwill;
We wanted their stiff drinks and technology.
We gave them what they sought, and we had our fill
Of new high-tech gadgets and Martian green tea.

They talked about a growing sunspot.
They said, "your future will be frought
With war, but you'll have flying cars.
They told us they've terraformed Mars.

Talk amongst yourselves, now, discuss;
But what if the Martians are us?

Then they all got bored and flew to Io
With the music and art and lit we once knew.
They said, "Mars awaits you," but I'll bet they know
Someday we'll turn Mars into Earth Number Two.

They talked about a growing sunspot.
They said, "your future's what we've brought."
They flew away, into the stars.
But now we know we'll terraform Mars.

Talk amongst yourselves, now, discuss;
But what if the Martians are us?

Let Us Partake

Beloved ones,
Sing his praise as we gather now.
Let us rejoice, for we have been forgiven.
He dwells with us,
Though his ways are higher than ours.
Let us partake of the love he has given.

To everyone who calls upon his name,
He provides mercy and grace.
Come, praise the Savior in one accord.
We know that he is evermore the same.
He is here; let us embrace
The King of kings, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Beloved ones,
Sing his praise as we gather now.
Let us rejoice, for we have been forgiven.
He dwells with us,
Though his ways are higher than ours.
Let us partake of the love he has given.

On the night when our Lord was betrayed,
He took break, and said, "This is my body,
Which is given for you.
Do this in remembrance of me.

In the same way he took the cup and said,
"This cup is the covenant in my blood,
Which is poured out for you
Do this in remembrance of me."

[Instrumental interlude]

And when we eat this bread and drink this cup,
We are proclaiming his death,
With thanksgiving, until he comes.
He did not leave us comfortless; look up!
We were dead until his breath
Gave us life, and faith that overcomes.

Beloved ones,
Sing his praise as we gather now.
Let us rejoice, for we have been forgiven.
He dwells with us,
Though his ways are higher than ours.
Let us partake of the love he has given.
