The Great Awakening

Rebel heart,
Weighed with care,
Gripped by fear;
Do not despair.

Darkened one,
Dawn will break;
You will soar
When you awake.

Joy, that gentle friend
You barely recall,
Waits for you
Outside your prison wall.

You will be lifted by laughter;
You will know sorrow no more.
Joy will remain ever after;
And with eagle wings you will soar.

Weary world,
Fallen race,
Wayward souls,
Bereft of grace.

Barren earth;
Dry, dead bones;
Skeletons
On rusted thrones,

You will listen,
And you will arise.
Love will come,
And open your eyes.

You will be lifted by laughter;
You will know sorrow no more.
Joy will remain ever after;
And with eagle wings you will soar.

You will escape your enslaver;
He will oppress you no more.
Love’s sweet delights you will savor;
You will rejoice evermore.

You will be lifted by laughter;
You will know sorrow no more.
Joy will remain ever after;
And with eagle wings you will soar.
