Summer and Autumn

Sunburnt, sweat-drenched,
Half-roused in the sweltering heat,
Summer stretches,
Relaxes,
And scratches his grassy feet.

Wispy, wide-eyed,
Adrift on a sweet, swirling breeze,
Autumn gazes,
Remembers,
Septembers her way through the trees.

Without hesitation
She quietly tiptoes,
Then hops, skips, and dances
Across a green field
Of savory-sweet sunlit mirth.

With tidings of harvest
Her crisp song crescendos,
Her wild gale advances.
Hot Summer's fields yield,
As Autumn cool-kisses the earth.
