Dancing in the Downpour

I was weary;
I was thirsty;
I had just about had enough.
I was drifting;
I was wasted;
And it hit me when you called my bluff.

You came my way
Like a mighty gust;
I left my doubts
In a cloud of dust.

Now I'm dancing in the downpour;
Gonna turn this road into a dance floor,
As you cover me with drops of love.
Oh, shower me with mercy from above.

I was leaving;
I was staying;
I really didn't have a clue.
I was fearful;
I was praying.
What could I do but call on you?

You came my way
Like a mighty gust;
I left my doubts
In a cloud of dust.

Yes, I'm dancing in the downpour;
Gonna turn this road into a dance floor,
As you cover me with drops of love.
Oh, shower me with mercy from above.

Fall, and fill
This stubborn, barren heart.
Fall, until
Love flows through every part
Of this dry, desert plain.
Overwhelm me now, blessed rain.

Instrumental interlude

Yes, I'm dancing in the downpour;
Gonna turn this road into a dance floor,
As you cover me with drops of love.
Oh, shower me with mercy from above.

Said I'm dancing in the downpour;
Gonna turn this road into a dance floor,
As you cover me with drops of love.
Oh, shower me with mercy from above.
