Who summoned you out of the cavernous deep?
No guilt in your eyes now, no visage austere.
From shadowy vale to heights glorious you leap!
What power unchained you and altered your fate?
Who lifted the veil of disconsolate shame?
Did love reach you somehow? Is it not too late?
How did your soul escape the consuming flame?
Did you not betray your true love with a kiss?
Did you not break his heart in Gethsemane?
Did he call you, bless you, and love you amiss?
Or did he know his love would set your soul free?
Remorseful you ran, for you could not undo
The vile deed. But now you believe that he cried,
"Oh Father, forgive; they know not what they do!"
Were you on his mind as he suffered and died?
Did he call you, bless you, and love you amiss?
Or did he know his love would set your soul free?
Remorseful you ran, for you could not undo
The vile deed. But now you believe that he cried,
"Oh Father, forgive; they know not what they do!"
Were you on his mind as he suffered and died?
The flames have engulfed you and thoroughly purged
The dark consequences of your wretched choice.
In garments immaculate you have emerged
Before the Almighty, O Judas; rejoice!

My tears are testifying to the hope you've beautifully captured that every child of grace should have.
